Strain Gauge MeasurementsMeasure strain and determine loading conditions

Strain gauge measurements are useful when the actual loads on the structure or machinery are required. Knowing the loads helps to stay within the strength limitations of your processing facility, and assist in avoiding fatigue and durabity concerns.

Often the loading on a component is not known, but is required information for accurate modeling of a structure. Measuring the strain on the critical members will determine the deformation, and thus the forces.

For machines or vehicles that need a long life, fatigue is a concern.  Often, welded joints are the ones that break preferentially.  In these structures, strain gauges placed near the critical joints while the machine is used over a range of operating conditions, will supply the required load information for rainflow counting algorithms.

Spectrum Technologies can perform this testing using many strain gauges simultaneously.
